ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: 2024 Fall Color Run is the last Club Drive of the season and is now open for registration.

Join us Saturday and Sunday, October 5th and 6th for an exciting drive across the Wisconsin Driftless Area from Hastings MN to Tomah WI.

Meet at the Holiday Station at the top of the hill in Hastings 12370 Point Douglas Dr S, Hastings, MN 55033 at 8:30 am or earlier to socialize, with an 8:45 driver‘s meeting, and the 1st group leaves at 9 am.

Our drive will take us through Durand, Whitehall, (where lunch is on your own) and Black River Falls on our way to the Cranberry Lodge in Tomah. Yes, we stayed there for the Spring Rally, but all the hotels from Lacrosse to Sparta are filled up on this weekend. We had to get as far away as Tomah to get available rooms. Great News, the hotel is giving us the same great discounted room rate as we got on the Spring Rally.

We will have a dinner buffet $21.00 per person. Consisting of a “Build your own fajitas with seasoned steak and chicken, accompanied by appropriate condiments, soft shells, Spanish rice, salsa, tortilla chips, assorted cookies, and brownies.”

Our Sunday drive will take us through Sparta, and we will drive the back roads on our way to West Salem. Our morning break will be at a Kwik Trip in West Salem. We will then traverse the Mindoro Cut. (It’s not Wildcat Mountain, but it’s a close second.) Lunch will be on your own in Arcadia. After some great roads, we will end our day at Nelsons Ice Cream Shop where we can have a sweet treat and head home from there.

As this is a Color Run, there is no guarantee as to the color of the leaves in this area of Wisconsin. We could be seeing green for the whole ride, or there could be snow. Mother Nature can be very unpredictable this time of the year!

The Cranberry Lodge will have our discounted rooms available for reservations from now until September 20th at the discounted rates.

There will be a separate table for members to browse through. All items will be free. Any remaining items will be donated.

ELECTIONS
Our club by-laws require us to hold elections in October with the elected board member‘s term of office starting on November 1st.
As per the by-laws, people serving on the Board of Directors cannot serve in the same position for more than two one-year terms. Our current secretary, Vaughn Lambert, and treasurer, Rick Fenoglio, have both served for the past 2 years.  We thank them both for their service and for having done an excellent job!  We will be electing a new secretary and treasurer on October 20th.  Our current president and vice president positions have both been held for one year and are up for re-election this year.
Nominations for board positions are open until the start of voting on October 20th.  If you think you might be interested in supporting the club in one of these positions but would like to know more about what is involved, don’t hesitate to contact the current board member holding that position.
To make a nomination, e-mail the name of the nominee and the position to which the person is being nominated to Vaughn Lambert, our club secretary, at secretary@miataclubmn.com.  A
