The 2026 Fall Membership Meeting/Elections is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th at 10:00 AM - please note the updated date. It will be held in the clubhouse at the Chanhassen AutoMotorPlex 1740 Motorplex Court, Chanhassen, MN. See the Google Maps link in the Location section below. REGISTRATION: Registration is open to all club members and prospective members. Registration will close on Saturday, Oct 24. If possible, please register on the website's event calendar for this meeting by Wednesday, October 21st so that we have an idea of how many will be attending to help plan for set up.
CLUB MERCHANDISE: Our Merchandise Coordinators, John and Kelly Schumacher, will have club merchandise onsite for purchase. Be sure to look for discounted pricing on select merchandise! Please note there will not be a merchandise swap at this meeting so do not bring your used club merchandise. Watch for merchandise swap opportunities at future meetings!
ELECTIONS:
Our club by-laws require us to hold elections in October, with the elected board member's term of office starting on November 1st.
Per the club bylaws, people serving on the Board of Directors cannot serve in the same position for more than two one-year terms. Secretary Mike Everson and Treasurer Craig Johnson are completing their 2nd terms, so we will be electing a new Secretary and Treasurer on October 25th. Our current President and Vice President positions have both been held for one year and are up for re-election this year.
As per club by-laws, nominations for board positions are open until the start of voting on October 25th. If you are interested in supporting the club in one of these positions and would like to know more about what is involved, don’t hesitate to contact the current board member holding that position.
You can also nominate another member for a board position. To make a nomination, e-mail the name of the nominee and the position to which the person is being nominated to Mike Everson, our club secretary, at secretary@miataclubmn.com. Please check with the person you are nominating to ensure they are willing to take the job. Open nominations are also allowed at the meeting, and nominated persons will be asked to confirm they are willing to serve if elected. Nominations will close at the Membership Meeting just prior to voting.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can email your absentee ballot to the club secretary at the email address above, but it must be received no later than Saturday, October 24th. Full Members and their associated Family Member may vote at the Membership Meeting.
