Once again we will be venturing westward touring Lakes & Rivers as we meander our way to the River Inn in Hanover for lunch. Things have been updated a little at River Inn since this photo from the 1930s - gone are the spittoon footrests, and the food is fantastic!
Date and Time: Saturday, August 22, 2026, Driver’s Meeting at 9:45am, the lead group departs at 10:00am.
The Start: Minnetonka Target Parking Lot, 4848 County Rd 101, Minnetonka, MN (NW corner of MN Hwy 7 & County Rd 101). Note that there are 2 Target Stores in Minnetonka - go to the correct one! See the Google Maps link below. Target has food, coffee, and restrooms, and gas is available at the nearby Speedway. Driver's Meeting will be at 9:45am and the lead group will depart at 10:00am.
The Ride: The first leg starts with the western and northern portions of Lake Minnetonka where we will see some great lake views and beautiful homes. From there we’ll head south and west through Victoria and Carver Park Preserve before our rest stop in St. Bonifacius. The second leg will continue to show us the Lake Minnetonka area, then we turn west and go through rolling hill farmland as we drive through Minnetrista, Mound, and Watertown. We’ll then follow the Crow River north through Delano and Rockford as we make our way to lunch in Hanover.
The Lunch: Once again will be at the River Inn in Hanover at around 1:15pm. Lunch is on your own with your choice of pre-selected lunch specials. You can also order off their menu but wait times may be longer.
Registration: Registration will close Tuesday, August 18th. There is no fee to register - just pay for your own lunch. If capacity is filled, continue to register to be put on the waitlist. Note that all driving groups will be at Touring Group pace, so there is no Touring Group option on the registration page. To help us give an accurate headcount to the River Inn, please indicate if you are *not* going to be joining us for lunch.
Learn to lead a driving group!: We are offering to train new group leaders on this ride. No leading experience is necessary – we will help you learn how to safely and enjoyably lead a group.
