The 2025 Fall Membership Meeting/Elections is scheduled for Sunday, October 19th at 10:00 AM. It will be held in the clubhouse at the Chanhassen AutoMotorPlex 1740 Motorplex Court, Chanhassen, MN Light snacks, coffee, orange juice and water will be provided. Thank you to club members Steve & Pam Flaten for arranging our use of the clubhouse!
Please register on the website's event calendar for this meeting by Wednesday, October 15th so that we have an idea of how many will be attending to help plan for set up.
CLUB MERCHANDISE
Our Merchandise Coordinators, John and Kelly Schumacher, will have club merchandise onsite for purchase. Be sure to look for discounted pricing on select merchandise! Please note there will not be a merchandise swap at this meeting so do not bring your used club merchandise. Watch for merchandise swap opportunities at future meetings!
GUEST SPEAKER
In addition to our regular club business and elections, we’ll be having a guest speaker from the Ronald McDonald House Community Engagement and Outreach department. They’ll be sharing information on their programs that donations made to Ronald McDonald House through our website help to support.
ELECTIONS
Our club by-laws require us to hold elections in October, with the elected board member's term of office starting on November 1st.
As per the by-laws, people serving on the Board of Directors cannot serve in the same position for more than two one-year terms. I have served as President and Mark Parrish has served as Vice-President for the past 2 years. We’ll be electing a new President and Vice-President on October 19th. Our current Secretary and Treasurer positions have both been held for one year and are up for re-election this year.
As per club by-laws, nominations for board positions are open until the start of voting on October 19th. If you think you might be interested in supporting the club in one of these positions but would like to know more about what is involved, don’t hesitate to contact the current board member holding that position.
To make a nomination, e-mail the name of the nominee and the position to which the person is being nominated to Mike Everson, our club secretary, at secretary@miataclubmn.com. Also, be sure the person you are nominating is willing to take the job. Nominations will close at the Membership Meeting just prior to voting.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can email your absentee ballot to the club secretary at the email address above, but it must be received no later than Saturday, October 18th. Voting is one vote per paid membership (i.e. one vote per family/car).
